A Beautiful Bunch of Bright Pink Blushes

I don't think it will come as a surprise to most of you, but my very favorite color for blush is bright pink.  It is just irresistible to me and if possible, I think that I would like to collect every single one.  I'm not sure if this is all of my bright pinks, but here is a picture of most of them:
Aren't they lovely?  Ha!  Some of the blushes I chose are currently available, some are discontinued, some have been reformulated, and some are brand new.  People often ask what my favorite blush is and I'd have to say it's Chanel Turbulent.  I prefer the color of the Euro/baked version, but the texture of the US one.  I've been using it sparingly because it is one of the discontinued ones and very hard to find.  Luckily, Nars Gaiety is really close in color and the texture is very nice for a Nars blush.  It doesn't have any shimmer, but still gives a nice glow.  If I need more, I can use a separate highlighter.  Here are the bright pink swatches:
Some are much more raspberry pink and others become cool and pale instead of the fluorescent pink they look like in the pan.  One of my favorites for texture is Beauty is Life.  The texture of Joy (and the others I have) is soft and creamy powder, really heavenly.  You can see the older versions of a couple Shu blushes on the far right--they're among my favorites in texture as well.
I have to admit to being a bit of a snob when it comes to the texture of blush.  I really prefer very fine powder that isn't too compressed or hard.  That is why I'm not crazy about the Chanel baked blushes--it's a bit hard to get color payoff from them.  They're finely milled, but the texture is hard.  There are no blushes here that I hate--the colors are lovely and even though not all the formulations are my favorite, there are much, much worse on the market.
I'm trying to post more and I'll be doing smaller groupings of colors/brands/etc. in the coming weeks.  Thanks for reading!  I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite things.  <3

Cargo Blush--Catalina

If you're looking for the perfect baby pink blush (and aren't we all?), then you need to take a look at Cargo Catalina.  It's a neutral pink, never overly bright or overpowering.  The texture is amazingly fine.  It glides on like a dream and blends beautifully.

The Cargo blushes are often overlooked because the packaging (a round tin) isn't luxe or glamorous, but they really are some of the best blushes in my collection.  Here's a picture of the ones that I own:

Here are the swatches--Catalina is second from the left:

It is matte and has excellent pigmentation.  Catalina would work to brighten up almost all complexions, except for perhaps the very darkest skin tones.  Check this out in a store if you have a chance, I don't think you'll be disappointed.  Have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday with Echo Beach, one of the striped beach blushes from Cargo.

Cargo Blush--Amalfi

Let me start by saying that Cargo blushes are some of my favorites.  I know I say that all the time, but I really love the smooth texture, fine powder, huge size, and reasonable price of the Cargo blushes.
Amalfi is one of the newer additions to my collection and I really love it.  Here is how it looks in the pan (it's not quite as cool in person):

It's a gorgeous pale/bright coolish pink.  In the same family as Chanel Turbulent, but lacks some blue and the neon quality that Turbulent has.  Amalfi has some superfine silver shimmer, which doesn't come across glittery, but just a little glowy.  Here are the rest of the beauties:

There is virtually no scent with these blushes and the powder is super fine.  Cargo quality is top notch and they have a lovely range of unique colors.   Here are the swatches--Amalfi is on the far left of the picture.

As you can see, it's a little cooler and brighter than Catalina, another one of my faves.  That will be the subject of tomorrow's post.  Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Burberry Natural Blush-08-Misty

The last of the Burberry Natural Blushes is Misty (08).  It is one of my favorites, along with the similar Peony.  I'm such a sucker for pale pinks and this one doesn't disappoint.  The texture is amazing and the color is gorgeous and pigmented.  Here is the pan pic:

It's a lovely cool pink with a hint of lavender in it.  Misty is perfect for cool, pale skin like mine.  The color melts in and makes me look naturally flushed and youthful.  I love it.  Here are the swatches, Misty is the one on the far right:

It's really just a lovely color.  Here is the group shot:

I've gushed all week about these wonderful blushes.  I hope you have a chance to test them out yourself at a Nordstrom counter.
One note:  Last week, I changed the way comments are handled and some got deleted.  I'm so sorry about that.  I'll do my best to reply to any comments left from now on.  I know it isn't my strong suit, but I do appreciate anyone who reads through my ramblings and comments.
My next brand is Cargo, a quality brand that is often overlooked. TTYL.

Bobbi Brown Powder Blush--Pale Pink

Pale Pink is my favorite of all the Bobbi Brown blushes.  Why?  Because I like pink!  =)
Seriously, if you look at my blush collection, it is pretty obvious that I'm partial to pink blush.  I've never counted, but I'm sure they outnumber all other shades by a fair bit.
Anyway, Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink powder blush was one of my first blogs, in the Seven Days of Bright Pink Blush, if you care to read it again.  I'm sure my opinion hasn't changed much.
The name Pale Pink for this blush is really amusing, because it isn't the least bit pale.  It's very bright and vivid. Here's a picture (it's on the upper left):

Pale Pink is a lovely face-brightening vivid pink.  It's cool-toned and has a matte finish.  The texture is very nice--smooth, silky, and pigmented.  It's easy to sheer out into a gorgeous (not so) pale pink color on the cheek.  It should work for most cool or neutral tone complexions.  You can see the swatch below, the 5th from the left.

Tomorrow is a much softer pink--Pink Sugar. Have a great day!

Week 4, Day 6. Shimmery Blush--Chanel Winter Shimmer JC

Chanel Winter Shimmer Joues Contraste has to be the most beautiful blush in the pan of all my blushes.  I'm a huge (HUGE!) sucker for really pale pink and adding shimmer, makes it irresistible to me.  This was a limited edition and I believe that it was a part of the holiday collection in 2006.

This one is really more of a highlight unless your skin is paper white.  I can use this alone  because I have naturally rosy cheeks and it just adds a nice glow.  It also looks beautiful over any other pink or rosy blush.  The shimmer is very fine, not chunky glitter at all.

It has the signature rose scent of all the Chanel blushes.  Despite it's name, it isn't overly shimmery, only a 7 on the shimmer scale, where 0 is matte, 5 is glowy, and 10 is a glitter explosion.  The powder is silky smooth, not the least bit gritty.

Winter Shimmer is a lovely ultra-pale pink highlighter--I hope you use it if you have it!  Tomorrow is the conclusion of Shimmery Blush week and we're going out with a bang--Nars Super Orgasm!

Week 1, Day 4. Bright Pink Blush--Bobbi Brown Pale Pink

Today's blush, for day 4 of Bright Pink Blush Week is Bobbi Brown Pale Pink.  Wait, What?  Why is it called Pale Pink, when clearly it is one of the brightest pink blushes (at least, in the pan) that I own.  But for those of you who are a little timid when it comes to vivid blushes, this is a bright pink that you can wear.  It is matte, and more sheer than the ultra pigmented R&R blushes and when applied, just gives a soft Pale Pink flush, hence the name.

As you can see it is vivid in the pan, but looks like a lovely pale pink on. I had to swatch BB Pale Pink (#4) more heavily than the others to get it to show.  It is definitely a wearable, pale pink blush.  It is also falls between Nars Angelika (#2) and Rock & Republic Kinky (#1) in the coolness range.  Angelika is a bit warmer and Kinky is cooler than Pale Pink.

Bobbi Brown Pale Pink is one of the prettiest pinks I've seen.  Because it isn't as strong as some of the other blushes this week, it should work for a majority of skin tones. Let me know why your favorite bright pink blushes are and I'll be back tomorrow with Nars Desire.  Yay for Blush!!
