Becca Pressed Shimmer Powder--Princess

Princess is the final Pressed Shimmer Powder from Becca in this tour of my blush and highlighter stash.  Princess is a  rosy-peach highlighter.

On my skin, it is a slightly warm rose color that buffs out to a lovely shimmer.  I love it layered over blushes like Chanel Rose Petale.  In the photo below, it is buffed out.

Isn't it lovely?  In the next photo is how it looked before it was sheered out.  It looks browner and peachier when heavily applied.

Princess PSP makes a lovely topper for blushes or just a nice highlight all by itself for the ultra pale ladies.  Like all the other Becca PSPs, Princess is smooth and shimmery, but not glittery or chunky.  They all give a gorgeous sheen on the cheeks.

I hope you've enjoyed the Becca and I'm sorry it took so long for me to get through it.  For more Becca, check out Shades of Becca, a blog that is devoted to Becca and she posts tons of swatches.
In the next couple of days, I'll start cataloging my  Bobbi Brown Blushes.

Becca Pressed Shimmer Powder--Odette

Today's PSP from Becca is Odette.  It's more of a gold highlighter and I think this would be lovely on medium-dark warm skintones.  Unfortunately, I don't really think it does much for my ultra-pale cool skin.  When it is heavily applied, it's a brassy-gold color, as in the picture below.

But when applied with a lighter hand, it is a lovely shimmery gold as seen below.

This is fairly shimmery, but the powder is still smooth and the shimmer is not chunky glitter.
Here's how it looks in the pan

and here are the rest of the PSPs for comparison.  Next, I'll discuss the last of these lovely highlighters, Princess.  Then we'll move on to Bobbi Brown blushes.

Thanks for sticking with me--I'll try to keep on top of things here at Blush Headquarters! =)

Becca Pressed Shimmer Powder--Nymph

Today's offering--Nymph PSP from Becca is a gorgeous highlighter that is pretty basic and universal.  It is just a smooth light cream/champagne shimmery powder that lends an ethereal glow to the cheekbones.  Here is how it looks in the pan, not that exciting, but scroll down for heavy and light application to see how luminous it is.

here it is lightly applied (or sheered out)

and here it is heavily swatched:

My best tip for where to apply shimmer powder is to find a picture where someone looks youthful and naturally glowy and apply it with a fan brush in the same places where she glows--usually the top of the cheekbones and a little bit about the eyebrows.
Here are the rest of the Becca Pressed Shimmer Powders, I'll be finishing them up this week and over the weekend!  Thanks for your patience!

The thing that I love most about these PSPs is the texture.  They are so lovely and smooth and not a hint of dry chunkiness about them.  Odette is up next--quite a bit different from Nymph!  TTYL!

Becca Pressed Shimmer Powder Nefertiti

Today's post is another of the wonderful shimmer powders from Becca.  Nefertiti is the fifth in my collection and is a beautiful shimmering golden peach.  It is in this picture on the bottom-left.

When I first saw Nefertiti, I thought there was no way my pasty-pink self could wear it, but after playing with it, it is really gorgeous on.  Here's a close up of it.

And here is how it looks on.  In the first picture is it heavily swatched (it's on the left) and in the second picture, it is buffed out.

Isn't it beautiful?  I really love these Becca PSPs.  They have a silky smoothness that is very hard to find and the shimmer is subtle (if used correctly) and never chunky or glittery.  If you have a chance to try one--do it!  You won't regret it.  Next will be Nymph!

I'm so sorry I haven't been posting more.  I've been too busy acquiring new blushes when I should be photographing and swatching them!  Here's a picture of my sidekick-Oscar.  How can you stay mad at a face like that?
I hope to be back in a day or two!  Have a great one!

Becca--Pressed Shimmer Powder--Hyawatha

Becca's PSP in the Hyawatha color seems different to me than the other colors.  It has less shimmer and a slightly different texture.  It's still soft and finely milled, but it's fluffier.  Almost more like a finishing powder would be.  I'm not sure that I'm describing it right.  But, that is the best I can do.

Here are the swatches--first the buffed out version, then the heavier swatches.

It is a yellowish tan when applied heavily, but buffs out to a more golden peach.  Like I said, there is very little shimmer in it, it is a very subtle golden sheen.  Very pretty and wearable for most everyone.

Here's how they look all together-- aren't they pretty?  ;-)

Next will be Nefertiti--it's gorgeous!  TTYL!

Becca--Pressed Shimmer Powder--Gypsy

Did you know that pink is my favorite color?  If so, then it should not be a surprise that Gypsy is my favorite of the Pressed Shimmer Powders from Becca.  It was the last one of them that I bought, but is the one that I love the most.  Here's some swatches, first heavily applied, then buffed out.

On my pale (cool-toned) skin, it is the perfect soft pink glowy blush.  If you have a medium or dark skin tone, you probably would want to layer this over another pink blush to add some instant glow.  That is really the intended use of the product--more of a highlighter than a blush or bronzer.  I love the texture of these powders--very soft and finely milled without a hint of grit.  Even though they offer varying amounts of shimmer and glow there is no glitter in sight.  Here is a look at it in the pan, followed by a picture of all 8 of the Pressed Shimmer Powders.

These are some of the nicest highlighters that I've tried.  Next time, I'll show Hyawatha, which is entirely different from Gypsy.

Becca Athena Pressed Shimmer Powder

The Athena PSP from Becca is a beautiful bronzy-gold color.  This pressed shimmer powder has a very metallic sheen, but no chunks of glitter.  Here's how it looks in the pan.

It doesn't look that exciting in the compact, kind of blah.  However, when I swipe it on, it comes to life.  It can be used as a highlighter or as a pale peachy-gold summery blush.  The pictures below are the swatches--heavy and then buffed out.

The pictures don't really do it justice.  It has a beautiful sheen that was hard to capture.

This is probably best for neutral or warm skins, but I think some cool toned girls could pull it off.  Here's a look at all of the PSPs.

Next, I'll talk about my personal favorite, Gypsy (Surprise--it's pink!).  I hope you're enjoying the Becca products!  Did I mention, that my dear friend Lynn has a blog devoted to Becca products?  Please check it out--Shades of Becca.

Becca --Angel Pressed Shimmer Powder

I really neglect my shimmer powders and I don't know why.  These ultra fine powders give the nicest glow and go on so smooth.  They aren't the slightest bit chunky at all.  Angel is one of the prettiest ones too!  Here's how it looks in the pan.

Below are some swatches of Angel and Athena--Angel is on the left in each picture.  The first picture is a really heavy swatch and the second one is buffed out a little.  In actual practice, you'd probably use an even lighter hand to apply.

The color is a gorgeous peachy beige, but with a hint of pink, too.  It's really gorgeous and is the perfect highlight color for almost everyone.  Like I said, the powder is so silky smooth and there is no chunky glitter at all.  This is such a nice product if you want to splurge a little.  Here's what all the PSPs look like.  Aren't they lovely?

I have heard that Becca is discontinuing the large size and will reintroduce them in a smaller size (like their blushes), but I have no personal knowledge of that.  Next, I'll do Athena which is totally different, but equally gorgeous!

Becca Pressed Shimmer Powders--A Pretty, Shimmery Overview

Becca PSPs are a lovely, finely milled powder that  highlights, illuminates, and can even act as a blush depending on one's skin tone and shade of Pressed Shimmer Powder used.  The eight colors are Angel, Athena, Gypsy, Hyawatha, Nefertiti, Nymph, Odette, and Princess.  Here they are all together.

They're very hard to get swatches for, but I'll do my best!  I'll go through each of these beauties individually over the next week or so.  Let me know which is your fave. Oh, and I'm sure you've missed the Oscar pictures, so here is a gratuitious shot of my favorite boy on his birthday last year!

TTYL!!
