A Beautiful Bunch of Bright Pink Blushes

I don't think it will come as a surprise to most of you, but my very favorite color for blush is bright pink.  It is just irresistible to me and if possible, I think that I would like to collect every single one.  I'm not sure if this is all of my bright pinks, but here is a picture of most of them:
Aren't they lovely?  Ha!  Some of the blushes I chose are currently available, some are discontinued, some have been reformulated, and some are brand new.  People often ask what my favorite blush is and I'd have to say it's Chanel Turbulent.  I prefer the color of the Euro/baked version, but the texture of the US one.  I've been using it sparingly because it is one of the discontinued ones and very hard to find.  Luckily, Nars Gaiety is really close in color and the texture is very nice for a Nars blush.  It doesn't have any shimmer, but still gives a nice glow.  If I need more, I can use a separate highlighter.  Here are the bright pink swatches:
Some are much more raspberry pink and others become cool and pale instead of the fluorescent pink they look like in the pan.  One of my favorites for texture is Beauty is Life.  The texture of Joy (and the others I have) is soft and creamy powder, really heavenly.  You can see the older versions of a couple Shu blushes on the far right--they're among my favorites in texture as well.
I have to admit to being a bit of a snob when it comes to the texture of blush.  I really prefer very fine powder that isn't too compressed or hard.  That is why I'm not crazy about the Chanel baked blushes--it's a bit hard to get color payoff from them.  They're finely milled, but the texture is hard.  There are no blushes here that I hate--the colors are lovely and even though not all the formulations are my favorite, there are much, much worse on the market.
I'm trying to post more and I'll be doing smaller groupings of colors/brands/etc. in the coming weeks.  Thanks for reading!  I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite things.  <3

Week 6, Day 5. Rose Blush--Shu Uemura M Rose 19

Shu M Rose 19 is the brightest and the pinkest blush in this week of roses.  Of course, that is enough to make it my favorite.  If you know me at all, you know that I love pink and can't resist blushes that color.  This Shu blush is just lovely, it's a clear pinky-rose.

It doesn't have any brown or peach in it like the other blushes I swatched this week.  It seems to most closely match the definition of the color rose, which is supposed to be a mixture of pink and red.  M 19 is a neutral pink with a bit of red added.  It gives a lovely rosy glow on the face.

Shu M Rose 19 is matte, but the glow-on blushes from Shu Uemura have a special glow that makes them unique.  They glide on smooth and are very nicely pigmented.  I've never detected a scent with any of my Shu blushes.  I also love the palette system flexibility as with Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and Stila.

If you haven't tried Shu blushes, give them a shot.  I know the packaging doesn't appeal to some people, but the product makes it well worth the $23ish.  The glow-ons from Shu Uemura are among the favorites of my collection.  Tomorrow is Chanel Tea Rose JC, which takes a different approach to the color rose.

Week 6--Seven Days of Roses

This is going to be my Rose week.  I am in love with makeup that bears the name of Rose or, even better, has a rose imprint or design.  Here is a pic of some of my rose-inspired makeup to get you in the mood.

To get back on the subject of blushes, I found that when describing rose colored blush, the word rose is used to describe many colors including pinks, fuchsias, reds, even going into the brown family.  The color rose usually refers to a shade between pink and red, but really, roses come in all colors.  For this week, I'm going to limit my blushes to ones that bear the name of Rose.  I'm sure that I could do a whole week on Chanel Roses, but I'm limiting myself to just 2 Chanel JCs.  So here are the rose blushes for Week 6:

For blushes that bear the name Rose, I've already done a few,  Chanel's Orchid Rose and Dior's Rose Diamond and Antique Rose.  This is what I'm covering this week:

1--Chanel Rose Petale
2--BB Desert Rose
3--LM Rose Petal
4--Stila Rose
5--Shu M Rose 19
6--Chanel Tea Rose

7--LM Rose Bloom

and the swatches for the week:

I hope you enjoy this week of rose colored blush.  I know I'm looking forward to it!  Cheers!

Week 3, Day 6. Peach Blush--Shu Uemura M Peach 44

Another Shu blush today.  Yay!  Really, did I mention how nice Shu Uemura blushes are?  They are really something special.  These are some of the best quality blushes I have/use and are very reasonably priced (relatively speaking, of course!).  They are smooth, decently pigmented, long lasting, silky soft, and they go on evenly to be the perfect blush for everyone.

Today's blush is Shu M Peach 44, which is a matte blush that goes on the lightest of all the week's offerings.  It is a matte yellowish/brown peach shade that is pretty subtle.  I think it has the least pink and red.  It should work great for warmer toned-skin.  The smooth way it glides onto skin would be lovely for a natural look.

Tomorrow, the last day of the seven days of Peach, will be Chantecaille Wind.  It's a pretty one and it's Chantecaille.  Yay!

Week 3, Day 1. Peach Blush--Shu Uemura P Peach 47

Kicking off Peach Blush Week with a gorgeous shimmery peach, Shu Uemura's P Peach 47.  The P in the name, refers to the finish-Pearly, but this one seems more shimmery than most.  It is a darker peach that leans more orange than pink.  I really love the texture and finish of Shu blushes.  Even though I said this was shimmery, it is still subtle and wearable by all.  I've never encountered a Shu blush with visible glitter, they just give the nicest, freshest glow.  They go on smooth and they're nicely pigmented.

It's gorgeous, right???  I know.  This week may change my mind about Peaches.  I can feel my mood shifting already from Pink to Peach.  Yay, it'll be fun!
Here's what's going on this week.

Below are the swatches.  As you can see, P 47 is on the left, perhaps the most orangy of the batch. Not so dark to be overpowering on my NW10ish skin.  I could see this working on almost everyone because of how easy Shu blushes blend.

Stay tuned for tomorrow for Chantecaille Delight.  It's a beauty too!

Week 3--Seven Days of Peach Blush

This week is peach.  I'll be honest, the color confuses me, is it a pale orange or what?  So according to my good friend Wikipedia, "Peach is a color that combines pink and orange colors."  I guess that helps a little.  As makeup (and blush) lovers, we all know that a beautiful peach blush is one of the basics of every blush wardrobe.  Keeping the definition in mind, This week I've tried to select a range of 7 peaches from light to dark, both matte and shimmery.  Some lean more pink, more orange, and more brown.  Hopefully they still fall in the range peach.

Here's the picture of this week's lucky blushes:

And they are:

1. Shu P Peach 47
2.  Chantecaille Delight
3.  Chanel Reflex
4.  Laura Mercier Orange Blossom
5.  Cargo Blu_Ray Peach
6.  Shu M Peach 44
7. Chantecaille Wind

Here's the swatches

The Seven Days of Peach begins today with Shu P Peach 47.  Yay!  Tell me what your favorite peach is!

Week 2, Day 7. DC'd and LE Blush--Shu Uemura P Purple 05b

Ok, I know this really isn't much to look at in the pan, but it makes up for it's rather homely looks by being a gorgeous lavender-pink on the cheeks.  For pale, cool-toned gals, it is a glowy natural blush with a slightly pearly finish.  In my opinion, Shu blushes are among the best out there and this is one of my favorites.

They are silky smooth, blend easily, last, and are pigmented, but never over the top.  Even colors that I thought that I couldn't wear look good on because of the excellent Shu formulation that allows it to blend into my skin.  If you haven't tried Shu blushes and can still get them, do it!  You won't be disappointed.

Next week, I'll be doing 7 days of Peach blush!  It'll give me a chance to play with the peaches in my collection since I almost always wear pink. Hopefully, I'll cover some of your favorites and introduce you to some future faves!

Week 2--Seven Days of Discontinued and Limited Edition Blushes

Do you hate seeing a product that you love and finding out it was discontinued long ago or was a limited edition?  I try to make it an adventure to try to locate that must-have item.  If you find it frustrating to do that, you may think it's a little mean of me to do a week of DC'd and LE blushes to show you things you might want.  I'm sorry!  But, I hope you can enjoy looking at the pictures, remembering what goodies you have in your stash and perhaps hunting for the ones you need to add to your collection.

I finished up last week with my favorite DC'd blush of all time, Chanel Turbulent.  However, I have 7 more gorgeous blushes to share with you this week.  I've only been collecting blush for a couple years, so there are so many that I'm missing.  I tried to select a variety of blush for the week, including some of my very favorite blushes.  Fist, the Group Shot:

Here's the list of beauties that I'll focus on this week:
1. Giorgio Armani #12
2. Chanel Narcisse Joues Contraste
3. Pout Apricot Totty
4. Chanel Nude JC
5. Dior Dentelle Vintage Pink
6.Chanel Evening Red JC
7. Shu P Purple 05b

And the swatches:

As you can see, there is a bit of variety in these blushes.  This group includes some of my all-time favorite blushes like Apricot Totty and Narcisse.  I hope to inspire you to dig out some of your older, neglected blushes to use and enjoy.  Have a great week!

Week 1, Day 6. Bright Pink Blush--Shu Uemura P Wine 25

Ah, one of my favorites today.  This is Shu P Wine 25.  Not what I think of as wine at all.  but a beautiful, vivid, bright pink.  Except for the formula and the finish, it is an almost exact dupe of Nars Mata Hari.  Shu blushes are some of my favorite, they are amazing quality, silky smooth, nice pigmentation, and give an amazing glow.  Here's a picture of today's beauty.

I love it so much.  It's really cool, but not quite as cool as R&R Kinky.  It has more red in it than most of the others, but not as much as Chantecaille Ecstasy.  The pearl finish is subtle, just a nice, beautiful glow, nothing shimmery or over the top.

That is day 6 of Seven days of Bright Pink Blush.  Tomorrow will be the hardest to get your hands on, but my all time favorite, Chanel Turbulent JC.  What is your favorite brand of blush?  Answer the poll or leave a comment!  :-)

I'm crazy for pink blush, all pink blushes. Really, there isn't much left to say on that subject except that I'm utterly fixated on it. If I see one in the store, it will be mine. So to get my career as a blogger started with a bang, I'm kicking it off with my favorite category of blush. BRIGHT PINK. 1. R&R Kinky
2. Nars Angelika
3. Chantecaille Ecstasy
4. Bobbi Brown Pale Pink
5. Nars Desire
