Week 4, Day 5. Shimmery Blush--Duwop Mango Blushbooster

Day Five of Shimmery Blush Week and I'm in love with this picture of Duwop's Mango Blushbooster.  This illuminating blush is just beautiful.  It's great for you warmer girls who can pull off these peach, apricots, and mango colors beautifully.  Luckily, even cool girls can pull these blushboosters off because they're pretty sheer, so they don't overwhelm the face.

The Duwop website describes this color as a "shimmery apricot" which I guess is pretty acurate.  I think Mango is actually a good name for it, since that is what it reminds me of.  Well, a pretty, shimmer, peachy-mango.

The website goes on to say that Blushboosters are safe to use as eyeshadow and are infused with beneficial ingredients:
  • Jojoba oils to prevent moisture loss
  • Cooling cucumber extract to reduce puffiness and calms the skin.
  • Pomegranate extract and Vitamins A and E for their nourishing antioxidant properties.
I haven't really noticed any difference between these and regular blushes, but it's good to know. lol.

These blushboosters do go on really smoothly and they are silky smooth not gritty like some shimmery blushes and highlighters.  Tomorrow is day 6 and one of my favorites, Chanel Winter Shimmer JC.  It's really more of a highlighter, but it is pure pale pink gorgeousness.  TTYL!

Week 4, Day 1. Shimmery Blush--Duwop Watermelon Blushbooster

To start off Shimmery Blush week, I picked an Illuminating Blush, as Duwop calls their Blushboosters.  These come in 4 colors (I'll be talking about Mango later in the week).  This beauty is the Watermelon shade of Blushbooster.  It's a glowy highlighter/blush in one.  It is a very pretty peachy pink which makes for gorgeous glowy cheeks.

The swatch looks much peachier on my skin than it is in real life.  It is really a pretty soft pink with slightly more than a hint of peach.  There is no scent and these are quite smooth--not gritty at all.  There is no visible glitter chunks, just a slightly metallic sheen.  They're also not super pigmented, nor are they intended to be.  But, they have a lot more color than a highlighter would.

On the shimmer scale, where 0 is matte, 5 is glowy, and 10 is glitterbomb, I would give Duwop's Watermelon Blushbooster a 7.  It's wearable for almost everyone.  I don't own any other Duwop makeup, but these glowy blushes are really wonderful.  They cost $22 and are available at Sephora or the Duwop website.

Tomorrow is Dior Rose Diamond Shimmer Star.  One of the prettier blush/highlighters I have. What's your favorite shimmery blush?

Week 4--Seven Days of Shimmery Blush

Wow!  I can't believe this is already my fourth week, time sure flies when you're playing with blush!  This week's theme is Shimmery Blush.  In my opinion, there is a scale of shimmery which runs from subtle or glowy all the way up to glittery.  Because I am a (semi) mature woman and not a teen-age cheerleader, most of the blushes that I own are from glowy to the middle range of shimmery.  I don't have too many glitter bombs.  Of the ones I picked for the week most probably double as highlighters and some will only be highlighters on certain skin tones.  At the very least, these blushes do not require the addition of highlighter, unless roadside reflection is required.  Here's the group picture for the week--aren't they pretty!

The blushes for the week are:
1. Duwop Watermelon Blushbooster
2. Dior Shimmer Powder 01--Rose Diamond
3. NARS Orgasm
4. Lancome Shimmer Pink Pool
5. Duwop Mango Blushbooster
6. Chanel Winter Shimmer JC
7. NARS Super Orgasm

And here's the swatches

As you can see, I tried to pick a range of colors and amount of shimmer.  I know I missed a few blushes that I no longer own like Nars Oasis and Sin.  I also didn't include Nars Angelika this week, because it was discussed in Week 1--Seven Days of Bright Pink Blush. Tomorrow will begin with one of the more subtle choices, Duwop Watermelon Blushbooster.  A gorgeous pink illuminating blush--I don't know why it looks so peachy in my swatch.

See you tomorrow to begin Seven Days of Shimmery Blush!
