A Beautiful Bunch of Bright Pink Blushes

I don't think it will come as a surprise to most of you, but my very favorite color for blush is bright pink.  It is just irresistible to me and if possible, I think that I would like to collect every single one.  I'm not sure if this is all of my bright pinks, but here is a picture of most of them:
Aren't they lovely?  Ha!  Some of the blushes I chose are currently available, some are discontinued, some have been reformulated, and some are brand new.  People often ask what my favorite blush is and I'd have to say it's Chanel Turbulent.  I prefer the color of the Euro/baked version, but the texture of the US one.  I've been using it sparingly because it is one of the discontinued ones and very hard to find.  Luckily, Nars Gaiety is really close in color and the texture is very nice for a Nars blush.  It doesn't have any shimmer, but still gives a nice glow.  If I need more, I can use a separate highlighter.  Here are the bright pink swatches:
Some are much more raspberry pink and others become cool and pale instead of the fluorescent pink they look like in the pan.  One of my favorites for texture is Beauty is Life.  The texture of Joy (and the others I have) is soft and creamy powder, really heavenly.  You can see the older versions of a couple Shu blushes on the far right--they're among my favorites in texture as well.
I have to admit to being a bit of a snob when it comes to the texture of blush.  I really prefer very fine powder that isn't too compressed or hard.  That is why I'm not crazy about the Chanel baked blushes--it's a bit hard to get color payoff from them.  They're finely milled, but the texture is hard.  There are no blushes here that I hate--the colors are lovely and even though not all the formulations are my favorite, there are much, much worse on the market.
I'm trying to post more and I'll be doing smaller groupings of colors/brands/etc. in the coming weeks.  Thanks for reading!  I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite things.  <3

Week 6, Day 7. Rose Blush--Laura Mercier Rose Bloom

Awww, I'm kind of sad that rose week is ending!  It was fun to see the different colors that makeup companies consider to be rose.  For day seven, I have Rose Bloom from Laura Mercier.  Laura Mercier is on of my favorite brands overall and the blushes do not disappoint.

LM Rose Bloom is a darker warmish, slightly brown rose shade.  It has more reddish-brown than the other colors this week and is fairly similar to Chanel Rose Petale.  I would almost call Rose Bloom a Reddish-Nude blush.  It would probably work best on medium warm skin tones, but should show up on everyone.

The texture and pigmentation is excellent for the Laura Mercier blushes and I love that the blush will pop out for use in the LM palettes.  It is matte and glides on easily for a natural glow.

I hope you've enjoyed rose week, I did!  I'll be back in a few days with the first of my alphabet series.  Seven blushes that start with A.  Haha, I take it as a sign that I have too many blushes.  Have a great week!

Week 6, Day 3. Rose Blush--Laura Mercier Rose Petal

For day three of rose week, I chose a blush from one of my favorite brands, Laura Mercier.  This is one of the newer Second Skin Cheek Colors that can pop out of the individual palettes to be placed into a larger 6-pan palette.  This is LM Rose Petal--in the pan it looks just like the color in my head when I think of rose blush.  Very pretty!

It is really interesting, because on the skin it transforms from rose to more of a peachy color.  In fact, I'd call the color Peach, with a hint of rose.  I love Laura Mercier blushes, they're fine powders, but not super soft like the US JCs.  And they have just enough pigment to show up, but not look overdone.  I also find the colors to be very wearable.

As you can see in the swatches, it's peachier, but not as red as Chanel Rose Petale JC and it really doesn't compare at all to Bobbi Brown Desert Rose--they are at different ends of the rose spectrum.

Tomorrow's blush, from Stila is more in keeping of what I would consider rose.  I'm loving all the blushes this week, I hope you are too!

Week 6--Seven Days of Roses

This is going to be my Rose week.  I am in love with makeup that bears the name of Rose or, even better, has a rose imprint or design.  Here is a pic of some of my rose-inspired makeup to get you in the mood.

To get back on the subject of blushes, I found that when describing rose colored blush, the word rose is used to describe many colors including pinks, fuchsias, reds, even going into the brown family.  The color rose usually refers to a shade between pink and red, but really, roses come in all colors.  For this week, I'm going to limit my blushes to ones that bear the name of Rose.  I'm sure that I could do a whole week on Chanel Roses, but I'm limiting myself to just 2 Chanel JCs.  So here are the rose blushes for Week 6:

For blushes that bear the name Rose, I've already done a few,  Chanel's Orchid Rose and Dior's Rose Diamond and Antique Rose.  This is what I'm covering this week:

1--Chanel Rose Petale
2--BB Desert Rose
3--LM Rose Petal
4--Stila Rose
5--Shu M Rose 19
6--Chanel Tea Rose

7--LM Rose Bloom

and the swatches for the week:

I hope you enjoy this week of rose colored blush.  I know I'm looking forward to it!  Cheers!

Week 3, Day 4. Peach Blush--Laura Mercier Orange Blossom

Today's blush is a shimmery pinky-peach beauty!  This is Laura Mercier's Second Skin Cheek Colour in the Orange Blossom shade. This is a beautiful, subtle blush that would work for fair-medium skin tones.  It is the pinkiest of this weeks blush selections, but I'd still say it is peachy.

Laura Mercier blushes don't get a lot of attention--they're not flashy, but they are lovely, subtle, and glowy.  They have a very nice texture and blend beautifully.  This is one of the shades with some shimmer.  It might even be too much for some people.  If you can handle the shimmer, then be prepared to be wowed by this gorgeous blush. This is just one of the shades of LM blush that I think every woman needs.  There are a few other shades that are gorgeous, too. ( Lotus Pink is amazing!)

As I said, it's the pinkest of the colors, with no real orange tone in it at all.  It also avoids the terracotta and brown/nude tones of some peach blushes. There is no scent and these LM blushes fit nicely into the newer palette system.

Tomorrow, is another wonderful day with Cargo Blu_Ray Peach blush.  The best, basic, true peach that is easy to wear!

Week 3--Seven Days of Peach Blush

This week is peach.  I'll be honest, the color confuses me, is it a pale orange or what?  So according to my good friend Wikipedia, "Peach is a color that combines pink and orange colors."  I guess that helps a little.  As makeup (and blush) lovers, we all know that a beautiful peach blush is one of the basics of every blush wardrobe.  Keeping the definition in mind, This week I've tried to select a range of 7 peaches from light to dark, both matte and shimmery.  Some lean more pink, more orange, and more brown.  Hopefully they still fall in the range peach.

Here's the picture of this week's lucky blushes:

And they are:

1. Shu P Peach 47
2.  Chantecaille Delight
3.  Chanel Reflex
4.  Laura Mercier Orange Blossom
5.  Cargo Blu_Ray Peach
6.  Shu M Peach 44
7. Chantecaille Wind

Here's the swatches

The Seven Days of Peach begins today with Shu P Peach 47.  Yay!  Tell me what your favorite peach is!
